A work for Feast Day XXVIII – Christmas Market: A place for Art On today’s Sunday, St. Nicholas Day, you can make yourself a gift. Twenty-seven artists are offering drawings, paintings, and photographs to buy. If you are interested, please contact the artist directly. I present my drawing “Comet Landscape”. Here you find the purchase link on Singulart: https://www.singulart.com/de/kunstwerke/anne-wölk-comet-lanscape-852079 The story behind COmet Landscape: The artwork shows a mountain landscape during cosmic dawn. What is it like on the surface of a comet? Breathtakingly beautiful, or fascinatingly strange? Maybe vastness and melancholy are the common impressions that come to the viewer’s mind. Boulders and cliffs half a mile high are the characteristics of the alien world on Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The pencil drawing refers to a photo taken during the Rosetta Mission.

The United Nations Office at Geneva has launched an online international art contest, “The Future We Want”, to mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. Exhibition in the Palais des Nation at the occasion of #UN75. All pictures have been submitted in an international art contest on “The Future we want”. I am really proud that the exhibition also features my art piece “Terraforming”.
The exhibition starts at the Palais des Nations 22.10.2020 – 30.11.2020 and will travel to D10 Art Space Gallery in Geneva until 15.12.2020 – 15.01.2021.

Terraforming, 2020, 70 x 140 cm, oil on canvas The future we want is all about preserving our planet. Earth is the only place where life can flourish. Life anywhere else would look very different. And yet human nature possesses an inherent curiosity about what lies beyond our horizon.
Art in Times of Corona: The Future We Want
The Perception Change Project of the UN organised the online art contest The Future We Want, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. The UN is marking its 75th anniversary at a time of great disruption for the world. Covid-19 is a stark reminder of the need for cooperation across borders, sectors and generations. Both global dialogue and action are now more urgent than ever, to prevent this pandemic from leading to greater mistrust. The project states that 2020 ‘must be a year of dialogue, of us coming together to discuss our priorities as a human family, and how we can build a better future for all.
Installation view, 2020, Palais des Nation, Geneva, Switzerland
The empowerment of artistic production Art is often an enabling tool to foster such a conversation about the kind of future we want and sparks the imagination on how we can empower youth in working towards it. To this end, the Perception Change Project in the Office of the Director-General of UN Geneva organised The Future We Want, a worldwide art contest open to all Geneva-based UN Missions. Each work of art on their website was submitted by Geneva-based permanent missions. All five continents are represented.

I am really happy to invite you to my next group show with Alfa Gallery Miami.
Oct 21st – Nov 29th, Alfa Gallery, Miami, USA
Press: The exhibition unites artists from all over the world with one work each and celebrates painting and sculpture in small to smallest formats – A vibrant and powerful selection of works that demonstrate the unique practice of each artist. I have produced my painting Mountain Landscape exclusively for this show. The motif resembles the shapes of a mountain chain. It attempts to transform my artistic interest in the science-fiction landscape into the language of contemporary minimalism and geometrical abstraction.

Press: For more than a decade, Swab has been working on the basis of a series of invariable values that define the character and philosophy of the fair, and this year, in view of the health emergency, the safety of our gallerists and visitors is at the forefront. The protection of Swab participants is our top priority, and therefore, exploring formats and ways to respond to the new reality, we proudly present an exclusively digital edition.
Swab has created a 3D virtual environment through which visitors can walk the corridors of the Italian Pavilion as if they were at the physical event, and can do so through any mobile device or computer, without having to leave home. Immersive technology and artistic quality are two of the distinctive qualities of this new edition which, from October, will be accessible to everyone via a free, international App. At the same time, for the second consecutive year, Swab will have online coverage of Artsy, which will present the artistic proposals of the edition on its digital platform.
As this is an extraordinary edition, Swab 2020 will be held over two weeks, from 1 to 15 October 2020, and up to 70 international galleries will take part.
SWAB Awards
As in each edition, SWAB Barcelona will reward its participants for their contribution to emerging talent and contemporary art. This 2020, despite the fact that the fair will be held virtually, it will continue to award the Espronceda residency prize with an artistic stay in its Barcelona installations; the DKV prize to the best Spanish artist, the MANGO prize to the best emerging artist and the drawing prize Colección Diezy7, whose winning work is selected by a jury formed by curators and contemporary art critics.
Acquisitions programme
Another of the classic points of the fair is its acquisition programme, which this year is formed by the Vila Casas Foundation, the Carmen & Lluís Bassat Foundation, the Civit Collection, the Lluís Coromina Foundation, the Manuel Expósito Collection and the incorporation of the Sorigué Foundation in this edition.
Collectors Programme
As it does every year, SWAB Barcelona promotes an international collecting programme that aims to expand the private collections of its participants and to encourage new collectors by introducing them to the knowledge and acquisition of contemporary art. This year, the programme will be switched to digital format, maintaining the activities as virtual visits to the homes of collectors from more than 7 different countries, such as Jose Luis Lorenzo from Argentina, Steven Guberek from Colombia, Alberto Rebaza from Peru, Josep Maria Civit from Barcelona or Alejandra Castro Rioseco from Dubai, getting to know in detail their most recent acquisitions and their most unique pieces.
SWAB Thinks
Artists, gallery owners, collectors and professionals in the sector will find in Swab another year a meeting point to attend talks, round tables and debates on art and current affairs. This year, the talks will take place via videoconference and will be in the following formats
-1+1: 2 minute clips in which we will introduce our artists and gallery owners through our IGTV channel on Instagram. -10 minutes, 10 processes: studio visits by the participating artists Ephemeral, who will show us their workshops at the Factories of Creation in Barcelona: La Escocesa, Hangar and Fabra i Coats. Other international residencies associated with the fair will also be part of this initiative, which will be communicated shortly. -Collaboration with ArtSuper: ArtSuper is once again associated with Swab 2020 as one of its main media partners, and is carrying out a communication campaign in collaboration with the fair that includes a take over of our social networks, a series of interviews, a TOP 5 by the members of the Committee, and an analysis of the works exhibited at Swab.

A museum for contemporary art is missing in Dresden. After the fall of the wall, the project for Stella Art Gallery, meant to be a museum for contemporary art, was to be located next to ‘An der Herzogin Garten’ in Dresden. In the end, the project was just as unsuccessful as the proposal for a new building called Quartier VI (Gewandhausareal). Quartier VI was also planned as an institution for contemporary art exhibitions and was to open at Neumarkt, in Dresden, in 2007.
Now, we want to draw attention again to current and future shortcomings. We will use the floor plan of the former museum area at the Neumarkt location. We will organize a one-day demonstration in the form of an exhibition to highlight the need for a museum for contemporary art. As a result, we will create an event called ‘Non-Museum’ by bringing people and art in a short and vivid demonstration together.
copyright deifunkwuk
The one-day event at Neumarkt is the first phase of the project. The Non-Museum of Contemporary Art Dresden should go on to use a virtual platform in order to expand and intensify the intention. It is meant to enable a discussion about a public art gallery space and its presentation form in the city.

Ort: Neumarkt, Gewandhausareal am Quartier VI, bzw. im verschobenen Grundriss davor.
Termin: Sonnabend, 25. Juli 2020 [im Kontext der KulturInseln Dresden]
Dauer: 14 Uhr bis 22 Uhr
Terraforming, 2020, 70 x 70 cm, Oil on canvas

The world’s first virtual printmaking biennial is opening on the 12th of June, 2020 with 54 countries, more than 600 artists and 7 virtual galleries!
Engravist, which has been organizing international workshops, exhibitions and various events on printmaking since 2016, is breaking new ground in the 2020 project.
People who closed themselves in their homes due to the pandemic process around the world have established more significant connections through the digital environment. Distances have disappeared in the world that has become a universal village within virtual networks. Along with many other fields, cultural and artistic activities also increased in digital environment. Art reflected once again its strength for giving people a dream of a better future.
Since establishment, Engravist has set out to transform the crises in general in the world in a positive way with the healing power of art, to contribute to the global communication and interaction cycle, to open way for its access to the international art environment and to create a dynamic synergy amongst artists from all over the world. International Virtual Engravist PrintmakingBienal will bring together more than 600 artists from 54 countries in 7 virtual galleries.
Engravist has carried out many exhibitions, workshops, events and projects at the national and international level in the field of printmaking since its establishment. In contribution to social responsibility projects it organised printmaking workshops involving various techniques with many students, academics and artists and created projects for young, promising artists. Engravist, has gained an inspirational structure with sustainable methods by expanding its range with the experience by bringing more activities to the world art environment.
It will be the world’s first virtual art biennial
In 2018, it took the first step of the biennial by organizing an exhibition with around 250 works by 200 artists from 16 countries. The dream of Engravist for 2020 was to increase the number of artists and to reach more countries and to make a printmaking biennial. Due to the pandemic process in the world, this dream was brought to digital environment.
Called for artists with the “What would you like to say about a better World?” slogan, hundreds of artists from all over the world participated. As a result of the jury evaluations, the artists to take part in the biennial were determined. “International Virtual Engravist Printmaking Bienal” will bring together art lovers in 7 virtual galleries with 54 countries, more than 600 artists. “International Virtual Engravist Printmaking Bienal” due to be opened on the 12th June 2020, will be the first virtual art biennial in the world.
Art events at the international level allow, countries at closed poles and people unaware of each other, to create awareness about each other. In this context, the scope of meeting the global dimension with the power of the virtual environment is expanding. International Virtual Engravist Printmaking Bienal also offers artists the opportunity to present themselves at an international platform as an art event held on a local stage but moved into a universal level.
About Engravist
Organizing “International Printmaking Events”, Engravist was founded in 2016 by Assoc. Dr Lütfü Kaplanoğlu. The name “Engravist” was created by combining the English word “engraving”, which means engraving, scraping, and the “ist” suffix that makes it meaningful. “International Istanbul Engravist Printmaking Events” in Turkey, in scope and action is known as the first of its kind.
Since 2016, 1 international symposium, many workshops and exhibitions have been organized by Engravist. In addition to world-renowned artists and academicians, young artists also took part in the projects. Furthermore, social responsibility projects were also supported.
